About
Our products, our ventures, your software
We design, build and launch software and AI products: our own, ventures with founders, and bespoke work for clients.
The name
sharp grey noun
The part of a brief nobody has pinned down yet, made specific enough to build.
Every brief has a part like that. Customers can’t picture a shutter on their own window. Rescues need to be seen by people who already love pets. A writer wants to know whether a chapter works, and “it depends” isn’t an answer. We take that part and make it specific: the shutter on a photo of their own window, an adoptable dog in the same deck as the neighbors’ pets, each finding in a chapter marked with its reason.
Whose name goes on the work
Work for a client carries the client’s name and look, and nothing of ours unless they want it there: the 3D configurator is Pentagon Security Shutters’ product. A venture we co-own keeps its founder’s brand, as Fetchpawz does, and our own products, IWE and Pocket Philosophy, carry their own names, with “by Sharp grey” underneath.
In a paragraph
Sharp grey is a software studio that designs, builds and launches software and AI products. Its client work includes a 3D configurator for Pentagon Security Shutters, and it co-owns ventures with founders, such as the pet app Fetchpawz, which it also rebranded. Its own products are IWE, a writing environment that measures prose as you type, and Pocket Philosophy, a daily philosophy app in development. Its first open-source releases, OWEngine and City for the Godot engine, are in preparation.
